Check out where the band sits on your back. If it’s above your shoulder blades, you’re wearing it wrong. The band should be level all the way around your body and sit just below your shoulder blades. How to Fix an Underwire Bra

  • Grab a bit of electrical tape or masking tape and wrap a small amount around the tip of the wire, but don’t go so overboard that you can’t slide the wire back through the tiny rip. Thickening this end will prevent it from re-poking itself out again. Push the underwire back into position.
  • Bust out your sewing kit and find the thickest, strongest thread in the box. Upholstery thread is ideal. If you don’t have any, a small spool of a heavy-duty thread should only cost a couple of dollars at your local craft or fabric shop. Sew the tear shut by starting below the underwire and stitch beyond the ripped hole for maximum security.
  • To make sure the underwire stays put for good, cover your stitching with some fabric glue. No fabric glue? Some clear nail polish will also do the trick.

Voila! You’ve just protected your investment.
